desensitization & reprocessing

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy approach designed to work with distressing or traumatic memories. Many psychological difficulties are the result of distressing life experiences which are not stored in your memory properly. These experiences are said to be unprocessed or blocked and need some help to become processed. EMDR is one way to accomplish that.

EMDR taps into the brain's innate capacity for healing and resolution. Guided by a skilled therapist, this evidence-based approach helps you reprocess traumatic memories that have become stuck or fragmented, reducing their emotional impact and allowing for resolution. Through bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, tapping, or sounds, EMDR stimulates the brain's natural healing processes, facilitating the integration of distressing experiences and the restoration of a sense of safety and wholeness.
