Meet Max - Learning about Divorce from a Basset Hound's Perspective

Featuring Max, the family dog whose owners decide to divorce. When Max first learns about divorce from his favorite eight-year-old boy, Max experiences sadness, anger, and confusion until his friend Otis, the rabbit, helps him accept this new change.

Meet Max allows children to identify with a family pet who is experiencing emotions and sharing concerns they may recognize in themselves. Meet Max is meant to be read together by parents (or other family members) and their children who are impacted by divorce.

Max Meets Emma - Learning about Blended Famlies from a Basset Hound's Perspective

Featuring Max, the dog, and Emma, the cat, whose separate owners have decided to marry after an earlier divorce. Max and Emma share a variety of experiences together as they learn to accept each other fro who they are (with all the differences attributable to cats and dogs) and ultimately how to blend into one new family.

This story allows children to explore their own feelings, thoughts, and concerns about blending their famlies. Max Meets Emma is meant to be read together by parents (or other family members) and their children who are experiencing the blending of families.
